obama art    The Democrat candidate for the presidency of the USA Barack Obama has found some unbeatable communicators and campaigners in the artist community. The "artistic" branch of the campaign, originally kept low profile on the fringe of the campaigningby the democrats has now increased hugely in importance. They've become fully aware of the potential and power demonstrated by iconographic imagery of leaders in socialist countries and, coupled with Warhol's theory of repetition, they've managed to make a brand and icon out of Obama.

The Democrat candidature has immensely benefited from the party strategy of using posters, street graffiti done with stencils, stickers and other forms of street art. These methods have bestowed Obama with a modern contemporary status. This Obama Art phenomenon, highlighted in all the major American magazines and newspapers, have set up the Illinois senator as the young people's candidate.

However, when linked to petrol giants and weapons manufacturers, artists don't seem to the most appropriate campaign companions. And the Democrats know this. That's why, even though they support the Obama Art Movement, they have not made it an official part of their campaign. It will come as no surprise that dumb asses like ourselves have been captivated by the "graphic" element of the American presidential election campaign, but a quick visit to Obama's web site will soon bring reality back with a bang. The first thing you will find on entering the site is an invitation to sign your name. That and how to make the obligatory donation. In God we trust.
