Films are going to take Iruñea over from 8th to 14th February. In addition to the usual non- fiction competition, there will be other cycles and activities. Amongst other things, an interesting cycle of films about the concept of time. Because of what they are and where they come from, there won’t be many other chances to see the films shown at this festival

French artist Thomas Mailaender has taken old photos connected with wars and used ultraviolet rays to reveal them on human skin. The photos disappear when they come into contact with sunlight.

Tobias Gutmann has invented a social portrait machine. He draws the portrait of whoever gets in front of him as if they were in a photo machine. He’s travelled 110,607 km from Stockholm to Milan, Dar es Salaam, Tokyo, London, Copenhagen, Basel,Frankfurt, Madrid, Zürich, San Francisco, Paris, Düsseldorf Luxembourg, Melbourne and Wamangu (Papua New Guinea) and drawns 1968 portraits.

This year, once again, Bizkaia has been chosen to take part in the international competition for the biggest waves. Last year the massive surf sessions there helped. The competition has started and it can be held any time up to February. The sea will tell us when: we just have to wait for the giant storms and waves.

This is the ninth year that Dock of the Bay’s been held in Donostia. This music documentary festival has found a space for itself in this city full of cinema options. This year, what’s more, Fernando Golvano’s organised the True Narrative narrative round-table talk in Egia. 6th to 16th January.

They started in November and already have around 40 shows programmed up to March. ArteDrama and Huts are the producers and Ander Lipus is directing Jon Gerediaga’ text about immigrants, not from their point of view but about “our lot” who come into contact with them.
