antologia apetatsua.

julio cortazar. txalaparta.

There is a collection of Cortazar’s tales in this anthology. We already know him, but this is an important opportunity for us to read his tales in Basque. Jon Alonso selected and translated the texts. Those who have read the stories of this Argentinean thoroughly understand what Alonso means by this in the epigraph: “It is not easy at all to translate the rhythm of his fluent Spanish; nor his musicality and jazz touch into a comprehensible text in Basque”.

The chocolate in Mendaro is black, as well as the future of Aitor. He is not interested in playing the part of a detective around the case of a dead body, not at least until he sees himself in trouble. This is when he becomes the main character of this novel and the reader finds out that it is possible to enjoy a novel without taking notice of Basque topics. Entertaining.

Words are the main characters in this magazine. Unlike what usually happens words have an aesthetic feeling. Words form lines, paragraphs and texts and these make this magazine more important. In terms of content, this is varied and interesting. The article entitled “Oteiza como imagen de marca” is simply outstanding. It’s a copyleft edition, under the license of creative commons.

This artist native of Donostia will take part in the Bienale of Venice. She has previously gathered some of her pieces of work in a catalogue. These haven’t been designed to be admired in a room, for she turns the room itself into a piece of work. Her work, rather than going into daily elements, camouflages into them. Although shown in two dimensions, this book perfectly displays the work of the artist and what it wants to suggest.
